This course will offer delegates an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and increasingly popular pedagogical approach to teaching and learning, and to deliver beach school programmes.

The objectives of this course:

  • Investigate the history and ethos of Beach Schools.
  • To understand the development of Beach Schools from a national and international perspective.
  • Understand how the beach ecosystem works and how to use this natural resource to support children’s holistic development.
  • Recognise the benefits of beach activities to children’s personal, social and emotional development. Promoting inclusive practice.
  • Use and teach a range of practical skills appropriate for Beach Schools.
  • Explore health and safety requirements.
  • Plan, implement and reflect on Beach School sessions.

This course is a one-day course (9am – 5pm). The cost of the course is £150 per delegate.

This course will be held at our International Early Years Centre of Excellence at East Coast College, Great Yarmouth Campus.

Bespoke programmes for both staff/children can be designed to suit the needs of your setting and can be delivered in house at convenient times.
