The Level 3 Introduction to Teaching and Training in the Further Education Sector is an introductory qualification for those contemplating a career in teaching or already engaged in instructing students aged 16 and above. This training programme provides a solid foundation in the principles and techniques of teaching and training.
If you are interested in learning about good teaching practice and how it can have a positive impact on the learning and personal development of students from a variety of ages and backgrounds, then this is the course for you. Achieving this award will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions in a variety of teaching or training contexts.
Units will include:
- Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Understanding and using inclusive approaches in education and training
- Understanding assessment in education and training

Requirements
Entry to this course requires candidates to have or be working towards a Level 3 qualification in the subject they wish to teach, or relevant industrial experience, and be able to organise written information clearly and coherently. There is no additional requirement for teaching practice as the course can be pre-service or in-service.
Assessment
You will demonstrate learning in a variety of contexts including a 15 minute micro-teach to your fellow students.

Successful completion of the Level 3 Introduction to Teaching and Training in the Further Education Sector can pave the way for further advancement, such as pursuing the Level 5 Certificate in Education or the Level 6 Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
