Course: Project SEARCH
James Paget University Hospital
FT / PT
This practical five days a week course (Monday to Friday), is based at the James Paget University Hospital. You will have one hour each day learning in the classroom with your small group. The rest of the time is spent doing real work in the hospital.
You will be trained to do real jobs, in a real work environment. You will have three rotations throughout the year and experience a range of roles within the hospital. During and at the end of each rotation, managers and mentors are invited to take part in a review of your progress. Your progress is discussed and recorded, areas for improvement identified and targets set.

- Gain increased independence, confidence and self-esteem
- Obtain work based individualised coaching, instruction and feedback

Guest speakers are also invited in to speak to you about their career path and offer advice and guidance.
There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.
You can progress into sustainable paid employment.
