Our BTEC Higher National in Digital Technologies qualification offers an exciting and informative study programme, with a specialist route in Modern Methods of Construction for England at Level 4.

The programme will suit those progressing from a Level 3 qualification in a related subject or those in related employment looking to upskill/retrain for the digital sector or to gain qualification for existing skills.

The pathway is designed to help you secure the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace, representing the latest in professional standards and providing opportunities to develop behaviours for work. This might include undertaking a group project, or responding to a client brief.

You will gain a wide range of knowledge tied to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. You will be involved in vocational activities to develop vocational behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis – all highly valued in higher education and the workplace.

The Pearson approved qualification is awarded the HTQ kitemark providing assurance to professional organisations, universities, businesses and students of the integrity and value of the qualifications through a programme of learning designed to meet skills gaps in the current workforce and build today’s talent to meet tomorrow’s needs in an international environment.

Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals address these various requirements by providing content that is closely aligned with the needs of employers, professional bodies, vendors and higher education for a skilled future workforce with the opportunity to develop transferable skills, useful for work and for higher education, including research skills. The qualification also has learning outcomes mapped against professional body standards and vendor accreditation requirements. Students are required to apply their knowledge to a variety of assignments and activities, with a focus on the holistic development of practical, interpersonal and higher-level thinking skills.

Requirements

You will need 60 UCAS tariff points or above (or the equivalent), Pass A*-C (T Level). All applicants are required to hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.

We also welcome applicants who do not hold these qualifications. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis based upon their overall application and the course applied for. We will consider previous and current employment and previous experience in place of the stated qualifications above.

Progression

After studying a Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Construction, students will have sound knowledge of the construction management sector. They will be competent in a range of subject-specific skills as well as general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of construction. You could progress to higher education or employment.
