This course is suitable for anyone interested in a career in maintenance, installation and repair for engineering and manufacturing. You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the engineering and manufacturing sector, including essential maths and materials and their properties.

You will also learn to understand material processing techniques and their effects on materials and material quality, materials testing methods and commercial and financial awareness.

You will then choose a specialism designed to support your interests, so you can get deeper into your chosen job and build up the skills you need for your future career. You can choose from specialist modules in either
mechanical, mechatronic, electronic control and instrumentation, or light and electric vehicles.

Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work within the engineering and manufacturing sectors and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

Requirements

You need to have achieved a grade 5 in both English and maths to be able to study this course.

 

Progression

Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship.
