Many of our students are now enjoying successful careers with airlines flying to various destinations around the world and others have used the qualification to gain work in other sectors of the travel industry such as retail travel agencies, business travel, visitor attractions and hospitality management.

The course will include offsite visits and trips including the World Travel Market in London; Cambridge, Norwich along with an overseas residential by air to a European Destination, so a passport is essential to take part in the visit (subject to stringent health & safety checks and current Covid-19 policy at the time of planning/booking), guest speakers, industrial placement, festival volunteering and real-working environments. Wellbeing tutorials, personal tutorials and online learning will also be a part of your programme.

Our students have undertaken a variety of industrial work placements including retail and business travel agents, hotels, holiday parks, airports, hospitality and tourist attractions.

We also welcome guest speakers from a large range of local and national employers who talk about careers within the industry including; Travel Counsellors, Jet2 and Co-Operative Travel.

 

Requirements

Progression to the Extended Diploma is only possible with the successful achievement of year one.

You will need to have achieved and passed a travel and tourism qualification at school, and/or have a good standard of English and maths. Ideally grade 4 and above in English and maths or working towards.

Full British or European passport will be required for oversea trips. (Please note that trips are not mandatory but encouraged).

Progression

Upon completion of the course you can progress on to our Level 4 HNC in International Travel and Tourism Management with the University of Suffolk at East Coast College. Alternatively, successful completion of both courses can also lead to a career within the travel and tourism industry. This course also accrues UCAS points that will allow you to study at a university of your choice.
