Are you considering a career in the police, fire service, military, or other uniformed services? You can make a difference to your local community helping others within a wide variety of roles in uniformed public services.

Our course will help you develop your skills in teamwork, leadership and physical fitness, preparing you for further study for either policing or uniformed public services dependent on your career goals. Your course will be delivered by dual professionals who have years of experience in the fire service, police and military.

You will complete training exercises, team building trips and outdoor adventure activities, gaining the transferable skills needed for a variety of roles.

Requirements

You will need to have achieved GCSEs at grade 4 and above, and attend an in-person interview. You will be supported to resit either a GCSEs in Maths or English alongside your course if needed.

 

Assessment

Assessment will be though written assignments, practical tasks, presentations, self-reflection journals, professional posters and report writing in the style of the public services. There are no exams with this course.

 

Progression

Careers in the police are not all about driving to emergencies or patrolling a high street, and you could also consider working as a call handler to direct 999 calls, the civil nuclear constabulary to protect nuclear power plants, or even investigating environmental crimes to protect our local wildlife.

For those going into the uniformed services, you could help the environment working with the fire service and coastguard to clean up chemical and oil spills, or help to install more efficient heating and energy systems in countries where war has damaged infrastructure.
