This course has been designed to offer interesting and exciting experiences that focus on developing your knowledge and understanding of the nature of criminology, psychology and law.

It is equivalent to A Level study and provides an excellent route for students who wish to pursue a career in the legal profession or criminal justice system.

You will focus on criminological theories, forensic psychology, unlawful homicides and police powers, approaches in psychology, crime and punishment, understanding law making and much more. You will explore the impact that criminal behaviour has on society and will gain an understanding of the institutions that govern the UK.

You will be introduced to the study of the mind and behaviour and the different ways in which human behaviour can be explored and explained.

Throughout the course, you will also develop skills that are highly valued by employers and universities, which will help you stand out when completing applications and interviews.

Requirements

For Level 2 study, you will need to have achieved a grade 3+ in English and maths plus two other grade 3 GCSEs or equivalent.

For Level 3 study, you will need to have achieved four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 and above including English and maths.

Progression

After completing this course, you can progress to university to study degrees such as criminal justice, psychology, forensics, philosophy, counselling, law, sociology, policing and many more.

Career opportunities include forensic psychologist, barrister, probation officer, solicitor, police officer, paralegal, crime scene officer, mediator and rehabilitation counsellor.
