ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems) is a widely used technology found on board modern vessels, both as a primary and secondary navigation system. Lowestoft College’s ECDIS simulation suite comprises of standalone bridge stations allowing candidates to get hands-on experience of working with ECDIS systems so they can better understand both the capabilities and limitations of the technology.
