This course has been specifically designed to develop your skills in the creative skill of dressing women’s hair, the art of creating a hair and beauty image, how to be effective when shampooing and conditioning hair and how to provide a good consultation service for your clients.

You will train in our on-site hair and beauty salon, Images, where you will get the chance to put your knowledge and skills to the test.

To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following units: colouring hair using semi and temporary colour, providing scalp massage services, presenting a professional image or the all-important reception duties.

Underpinning this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety while working in the hair industry. You will also develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of each unit.

You will also be able to access the awarding bodies’ online learning portal and discover sustainable working practices.

The course will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays, from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Thursdays and all day on Fridays, 9.15am to 3.45pm.

The next start date for this course will be January 2025.

Progression

On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to start the full NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing in September.
