This is a course designed for those of you who need a higher level of support and help to learn valuable life and personal skills. You will learn this through developing customer service, gardening and volunteering skills.

On this course, you will have the opportunity to gain a college certificate within a curriculum that is bespoke and tailored to meet your individual needs. A flexible and varied curriculum means you will get lots of different learning opportunities. You will have support provided in line with your identified individual needs. This allows us to provide appropriate levels of support throughout your timetable. The curriculum offered is focused on developing students skills for life with the aim to give you good levels of independence and to be able to make relevant choices.

You will be gardening, working in a shop, volunteering, taking part in community projects and helping others, cooking and housework and special olympics. English and maths will be promoted within lessons and through projects.

Trips will consist of various voluntary work placements and group projects, such as organising community activities within the college including for Remembrance and Christmas. You will also access local facilities such as garden centres.


There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.


You could progress to another year in Foundation and Progression, or you may move into community provision. You could also take up voluntary work.
