This new course combines three courses into one to provide introductory knowledge in Psychology, Law and Criminology.

This is a very popular course nationally and can lead to a wide range of exciting careers. Students can stay with us and progress to the Level 3 Psychology, Law and Criminology Applied Diploma and then if you want to stay local – join our Crime, Justice and Society degree! Students will benefit from learning from highly qualified teachers, many of whom have held professional roles that require practice knowledge of these subjects.

Units you may study include:

  • Aspects of crime
  • Criminal justice system, crime and social groups
  • Application of psychological concepts
  • Definition and illustration of psychological concepts
  • The English legal system
  • Aspects of family welfare law and practice
  • Criminal law and procedure

 

Requirements

You will need to have achieved a grade 3+ in English and Maths plus two other grade 3 GCSEs or equivalent. You will be required to retake English and Maths alongside the course if you do not already have a grade 4 or higher in these.

Assessment

All units are internally set and assessed by your tutors. Assignments will vary and could include presentations and tests as well as reports and essays.
