This course is ideal for those seeking a career as an employed/self-employed junior barber.

You will be taught by professional Barbers, learning the latest techniques and skills required for the industry. Each session will have an element of theory and practical, giving you hands-on experience within the salon. You will also have the opportunity to attend events throughout the year, hear from guest speakers and take part in work experience placements.

You may study units including:

  • Principles and Practices of Barbering Services
  • Health and Safety in the Hair Salon
  • Client Consultation
  • Shampoo, Condition and Treat the Hair and Scalp
  • Promoting Products and Services
  • Cut Men’s Hair Using Basic Barbering Techniques
  • Cut Men’s Facial Hair to Shape Using Basic Techniques

This course takes place two evenings per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

You will need to be aged 19+ to apply for this course.

You may also choose to further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking Barbering Level 3.
