East Coast College students have benefited from once-in-a-lifetime educational trips across the globe, travelling to Japan, Italy, Hungary and France to support their studies. Over the years, East Coast College has sent several hundred students to over 50 different cities around the world, with this year being no different.
Digital Arts and Fashion students embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Japan, exploring the incredible art culture in the country, from museum visits to fashion shows, as well as exploring historical landmarks and experiencing the famous cherry blossoms.

Hospitality and Catering students spent two weeks in Budapest, exploring the Hungarian culture and cuisine in its capital city. Students took part in masterclasses hosted by local chefs, as well as exploring businesses in the area that supply the industry. In their downtime from the kitchens, they explored local history and developed a greater understanding of the importance of food in the country.
Media Makeup students took part in a range of industry masterclasses in their recent trip to Paris, as well as exploring the history of the fashion capital. Whilst Creative Media and Art students had an unforgettable visit to Italy, taking inspiration from the Renaissance and Michelangelo, even visiting the famous ‘David at the Galleria dell’Accademia’.

Later in the year, Travel and Tourism students will once again be heading to Vietnam, whilst Animal Care students will be returning to South Africa. The college will also be sending Automotive students to Italy, Foundation students to Poland and Applied Psychology, Criminology and Law will be headed to both Budapest and Vienna, all thanks to the government’s Turing Scheme Funding, making these once-in-a-lifetime trips possible for our students.
Holly Chase, East Coast College Assistant Principal, said: “These experiences are truly transformative for our students, giving them the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally while gaining invaluable insight into global industries and cultures. Together, funds from East Coast College and the Turing Scheme allow us to open doors that many of our learners may never have thought possible, helping them to build confidence, broaden their horizons, and prepare for successful futures in their chosen careers.”
Turing Scheme trips and many other exciting opportunities will continue to be offered to future students at East Coast College.
