Operations Engineering

This course provides engineers with in-depth knowledge and skills to analyse and understand complex process systems and undertake fault diagnosis and correction across a wide range of equipment and technologies.

A broad range of units is covered including:
  • Analytical methods for engineers
  • Engineering science
  • Health and Safety and risk assessment
  • Plant and process principles
  • Application of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Instrumentation and control principles
  • Project design implementation and evaluation

This course takes place for one day a week for two years (30 weeks per year) or two days a week for one year.

Candidates must have a National Certificate or equivalent Level 3 in a related discipline alongside GCSEs at level A-C in mathematics, English and the sciences.

Operations Engineering involves the student in units across both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines.
