These courses won’t just bring out the animal lover in you but will help you towards a career or the chance of further qualifications.
You’ll study a range of fascinating subjects including animal behaviour and communication, feeding and accommodation, animal biology and nutrition, pet store design and more.
Level 1 – This course will introduce you to skills such as care, handling and grooming as well as general topics including working in a team and working safely. The course is focused on practical work, and you will have plenty of hands-on experience with different kinds of animals. You will also have classroom sessions to help build your general knowledge and maths and English skills.
Level 2 – You will gain theoretical and practical experience of caring for animals in a variety of settings: e.g. the classroom, your work placement and on exciting trips and visits. You will also continue your English and maths GCSE to achieve the C grades required for level 3.
Level 3 – Through assignment work, you will study a range of fascinating subjects including animal behaviour and communication, feeding and accommodation, wildlife management and rehabilitation, animal biology and nutrition, pet store design and more.

What can I go on to do?
If you are aged 16-19 and have not achieved GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths, any programme you choose will require you to continue studying English and maths.
