GWO Basic Safety Training (Global Wind Organisation)

GWO Basic Safety Training provides delegates with a range of important skills and tools including Basic Sea Survival (inc Marine Transfer, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Working at Height and Rescue.

The intensive six day course comprises of the following modules:

  • Working at Height and Rescue - wind turbines (2 days)
  • Sea Survival (inc. Marine Transfer) (1.5 days)
  • Manual Handling (0.5 day)
  • Fire Awareness (0.5 day)
  • First Aid and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) (2 days)

This course is physically demanding. Delegates should be physically fit to undertake this course and hold a valid medical fitness certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).

Delegates must be aged 18+.


Assessment is continual and summative throughout the course.
