This September, the Childcare Team will be celebrating the highly-anticipated launch of the International Educational Centre of Excellence here at East Coast College.
Based at the Great Yarmouth campus, the custom-built centre will become host to exciting new training courses aimed at early years education practitioners. Having been shortlisted for a Rural Business Award for our contribution to using learning as a tool to get young people exploring the Great British countryside, courses will include the innovative ‘Beach School’ and ‘Introduction to Forest School’. These courses will train teachers how to swap the classroom for the natural environment to enrich students’ learning.
Other courses include ‘Introduction to the Reggio Emilia Approach’, which will allow early years practitioners to utilise our onsite atelier and explore early years education from an international pedagogical perspective. Practitioners Level 3 and above will have the opportunity to gain a Level 4 qualification in the Reggio Approach.
The official grand opening of the International Educational Centre of Excellence will take place on Wednesday 4th September at 4pm, with local early years education practitioners invited to attend the celebration. We are very excited to announce that the event will feature key note speaker Penny Tassoni, a well-renowned education consultant, author and trainer who specialises in children’s learning and play. As well as hearing from leading educational experts and having the opportunity to network, attendees will receive exclusive course offers.
The evening is set to be a fantastic CPD opportunity; we look forward to welcoming you to this prestigious event and sharing our journey and developments with you.
