Course: Uniformed Public Services Level 2

Have you considered a career in the uniformed public services, helping others and making a difference in a wide range of roles, either in the UK or overseas?
There are hundreds of different careers within the uniformed public services, including roles in the military, emergency services, prison services and much more.
You will gain an insight into the knowledge, skills, qualities and physical requirements needed to join a public service, where it can be physically, mentally and emotionally tough, but worth the challenge.
You will develop your academic skills alongside resilience, communication, teamwork, and industry-specific skills such as map reading and navigation.
Our team of experienced teachers have backgrounds in a wide range of uniformed public services and will help you to understand and prepare for your chosen career in this industry.
Access is available to the National Careers Service, guest speakers and advice on apprenticeships throughout the year.
You will have the opportunity to attend ‘Look at Life’ courses with the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Royal Regiment. We also attend Suffolk Fire and Rescue career training and advice days and have links with the Royal Air Force and Royal Marines outreach teams.

You will need to have achieved at least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English) or Sport and Public Services Level 1.
You will be required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of 100% of the assessment criteria associated with each unit. Learning outcomes and assessment criteria specify what you have to achieve.
This is a graded qualification which gives you the opportunity for your work to be awarded a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* grade based on the standard of your completed work.
You can progress on to Uniformed Public Services Level 3.
Successful completion of this qualification could lead to employment in a number of job roles in the uniformed services.
