Course: Uniformed Public Services Level 2

If you are considering a career in the exciting uniformed services industry, then this course is for you. You will gain a good insight into the knowledge, skills, qualities and physical requirements to join a public service where it can be physically, mentally and emotionally tough, but worth the challenge. There are hundreds of different careers within the uniformed services which are not just roles in the military, but also include the emergency services and much more.

- Undertake Adventurous Activities
You will have the opportunity to access the Careers Gateway which provides knowledge, advice and guidance on all things job related. Drop in sessions can assist you in CV building and job searching, while a Virtual Learning Environment allows work towards maths and English targets.
Access is available to the National Careers Service, guest speakers and advice on apprenticeships throughout the year.
You will have the opportunity to attend ‘Look at Life’ courses with the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Royal Regiment. We also attend Suffolk Fire and Rescue career training and advice days and have links with the Royal Air Force and Royal Marines outreach teams.
You will need to have achieved at least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English) or Sport and Public Services Level 1.
You will be required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of 100% of the assessment criteria associated with each unit. Learning outcomes and assessment criteria specify what you have to achieve.
This is a graded qualification which gives you the opportunity for your work to be awarded a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* grade based on the standard of your completed work.
You can progress on to Uniformed Public Services Level 3.
Successful completion of this qualification could lead to employment in a number of job roles in the uniformed services.
