Our new T Level in Plumbing and Heating Engineering will support your understanding and skills development in all aspects of the construction industry and building service engineering systems.

You will cover a core content for the sector alongside specialising in the Plumbing and Heating Engineering sectors. You will be supported to develop a general understanding of construction with a focus on building regulations and standards, construction methods, health and safety, the science behind building design, surveying and planning and how to make accurate and appropriate measurements. You will explore data management and information standards in construction, relationship management and customer service, digital engineering techniques, sustainability and the environmental impact of construction and business, commerce and corporate social responsibility. You will also learn about topics specific to building services engineering, including: building technology principles, building services engineering systems, maintenance principles and tools, equipment and materials.

Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement for a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work with a plumbing or construction employer while you study, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

Progression

Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship.
