Course: T Level in Animal Care and Management

Learn the core knowledge and skills needed to embark on an exciting career in Animal Care and Management in this new T Level programme launching September 2024.
You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the animal care sector, with a focus on sustainability, including environmental legislation, sustainable development, climate change and waste management principles. You will also study the principles of biosecurity, ethical principles, the supply chain and principles of stock management, business organisations, enterprise skills and project management, characteristics protected by equality legislation, principles of customer care and health and safety.
Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement for a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, such as a vets, zoo, or animal charity, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

You will need to have achieved five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, maths and science, or have progressed from the Level 2 course.
Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship.
