This course enables you to progress from school to college and is aimed at those who enjoy the active side of learning in terms of sport and exercise.
The course is diverse in terms of ability, it gives you the opportunity to be stretched and challenged and also for more able students to mentor and peer support their fellow students.
Whilst this course proudly boasts a sport banners, it does embed some skills for life including wellbeing and healthy lifestyle elements.
Topics you may study include:
- Healthy lifestyles
- Types of exercise
- Why do we exercise
- What makes our body work
- Testing fitness and fitness targets
- Duke of Edinburgh Award
- English and maths
You will also take part in a range of projects including putting on sports sessions for different schools and organisations, volunteering for Special Olympics Norfolk and taking part in work experience at different leisure centres.
This course is three days per week from 9am-4pm.
There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.
Work that meets the criteria is tracked and maintained individually in the form of a portfolio. The programme is monitored by internal verifiers and external verification by Gateway and City and Guilds.
