This course providers a year’s transition before you move on to the wider college, Project SEARCH or study at an alternative provision. We often have students moving straight from school, this course is also open to current Foundation Learning students who need a further year to develop personal skills, confidence or maths and English skills.
This course incorporates work experience to enable you to gain some industry skills. You will also take part in the tutorial programme to ensure you are knowledgeable in all areas of P.S.H.E that you will need for life post college.
Topics you may study include:
- Household skills
- Improving own confidence
- Personal career planning
- Understanding rights and responsibilities
- Understanding young people, law and order
- English and maths
- Vocational tasters
You will take part in community projects and having something back, practical wellbeing, work experience and accessing the wider community.
This course takes place three days per week from 9am – 4pm.
Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.
Progression
You will progress into the wider college, employment, volunteering or a community-based provision.
