Course: Preparation for the Military Level 2
FT / PT
Do you dream of a career in the military, helping others and making a difference in a wide range of roles either in the UK or overseas?
Our new Preparation for the Military Level 2 course will equip you with all the skills and knowledge needed to enter the uniformed public services, including roles in the Army, Navy, Royal Engineers, RAF and fire service. You will develop your academic skills alongside resilience, communication, teamwork, and industry-specific skills.
As well as gaining an insight into the qualities and physical requirements needed in the uniformed services, you will also spend time developing your skills in a variety of trades, choosing from areas to specialise in throughout your course. These will include engineering, welding, mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and brickwork.
During this Level 2 course, you will gain a certificate in Uniformed Public Services as well as experience in your three chosen trades. These additional qualifications will prepare you for your interview and assessment for a job in the military, and will put you ahead of the competition.
It will also help you to consider and decide on what route you might like to specialise in when you get a job in the military, working with our team of experienced teachers who have backgrounds in a wide range of uniformed public services.
You will need to have achieved at least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English) or Sport and Public Services Level 1.
You will be required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of 100% of the assessment criteria associated with each unit. Learning outcomes and assessment criteria specify what you have to achieve.
This is a graded qualification which gives you the opportunity for your work to be awarded a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* grade based on the standard of your completed work.
You can progress on to Preparation for the Military Level 3 where you will have the chance to gain a Diploma in Uniformed Public Services as well as completing three additional trades.
Successful completion of this qualification could lead to employment in a number of job roles in the military, fire service and prison service.
