Our Performing Arts courses offer specialist training in all aspects of acting, dance and singing. Although all areas of performing arts are covered in lesson time, you will be encouraged to work to your strengths and career aspirations alongside developing new and existing skills.

You will learn and develop acting, voice skills and techniques across a number of drama styles and genres from classical to contemporary texts including pantomime, plays and musical theatre performances throughout the course. You will also prepare and develop solo material for auditions for progression to stage schools and
universities.

You will learn and develop dance skills and techniques across a number of genres, including jazz, contemporary, musical theatre and urban dance styles through workshops and performances.

You will learn and develop singing skills and techniques through both ensemble and solo work in vocal workshops and performance opportunities. Some technical theatre training is included through performance projects for those interested in scenic design, lighting and sound.

Why study with us:

  • We offer fantastic facilities with an in-house theatre, recording studio and dance studio.
  • Regular trips to professional productions both locally and in London’s West End.
  • You will benefit from workshops with top working professional practitioners from the West End and beyond.

Progression

You can progress into higher education, specialist stage schools or employment.

Many of our former students have studied at Guildford School of Acting, Italia Conti, Rose Bruford, East 15, Chichester Conservatoire, Colchester Institute and ArtsEd. Other areas of employment could include directing, choreography, teaching, arts administration and performance production.

"Working with the students from East Coast College is a real delight, because not only do they benefit from the invaluable experience of performing in a real live working theatre, our audiences genuinely love coming out to support our local young performers and we always look forward to welcoming them back."
