Phase 1 – Introduction to the offshore wind sector with the opportunity to build relevant skills through training, qualifications and experiences.
Initial assessment and selection to be able to move to phase 2
Phase 2 – Wind sector recommended employer qualifications, subject to funding.
Assessment and selection to be able to move onto phase 3
Phase 3 – Medical, physical, drug and alcohol test. A pass is required to move into phase 4.
Phase 4 – GWO Certificates – Working at Height, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness and Sea Survival.
Requirements
In order to be considered for the fully funded 7 month course, you must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 19 years or over
- Minimum of Level 2 English and Maths
- Medically fit for working at heights, physical training ie. manual handling, firefighting etc. (An OGUK medical and Chester Step (fitness test) will be carried out including drug and alcohol screening prior to course commencement)

Progression
Employer sponsorship for further GWO certificates for entry level installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance technicians roles.
Progression into L2/3 technical Apprenticeships, full-time engineering training.
