This preparation course covers all aspects of navigational safety with an emphasis on collision regulations, operational safety, responses to emergencies and pollution control. Also included are aspects of Master Business and Law.

Subject to the successful completion of an MCA Oral examination: Master (Code vessels less than 200gt not more than 150 miles from a safe haven) / Officer of the Watch (Yachts less than 500gt).

Course duration is eight days of tuition over two weeks with revision and MCA oral exams at the end of the course. Exams to be booked by the candidate direct to the MCA.

Courses are scheduled regularly throughout the year. Alternative dates for specific company requirements can be arranged upon request.

  • 07 – 16 September 2020

Course cost:

£775 + VAT per person

Requirements

Yachtmaster Offshore shore-based and MCA-recognised Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competency

Prior to achieving Master 200gt, you must also hold the following certificates:
– STCW Basic Safety Training
– GMDSS Restricted Operators Certificate (ROC)
– HELM Operational

(all courses are available at East Coast College).

Assessment

MCA Master (Code vessels less than 200gt) oral examination.

Delegates who have a valid Notice of Eligibility (NOE) issued by the MCA will be able to arrange an Oral date with MCA Marine Office in Colchester via email, Exams.ColchesterMO@mcga.gov.uk.
