Do you want to know more about what makes people commit crime? Our Introduction to Principles of Criminology course is designed to provide learners with an effective experience in developing study skills and the initial stages of learning about the discipline in terms of the concepts, theories and perspectives which characterise criminology. It is designed as an introduction to the study of criminology, and as such it does not provide, on its own, progression to work in criminology or a career as a criminologist or in any other forensic service(s).

This course covers the basic concepts and theories in criminology and how to apply these to issues of your interest. 

*This course is £180, however, fee remission may be available subject to your personal circumstances and residency requirements (for non UK Nationals).

Assessment

Assessments are portfolio based only.

Progression

Students who complete this course can progress on to our Access to Humanities or BA Crime, Justice and Society degree.
