This course will prepare you for a career in IT in specialist areas ranging from business software development to networking and systems support.
You will develop a common core of IT knowledge and study areas such as the relationship between hardware and software that form an IT system, managing and processing data to support business, using IT to communicate and share information, and computational thinking skills together with the principles of designing and developing computer programs.
It aims to help you develop the skills required to work in the IT industry through a range of practical and skills-based study methods.
Modules you may study include:
- Information Technology Systems
- Creating Systems to Manage Information
- Using Social Media in Business
- Mobile Apps Development
This course takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 3pm.
This course is due to start in September and is free (subject to personal circumstances) or £2,583 (loan option available).
You can progress onto a Higher Education IT course.
Careers could include: IT projects manager, website designer, programmer, cyber security, app and games designer, software developer, technician or computer systems analyst.
