This course is for candidates who work or want to work as an Electrician or Plumber in the Construction/Building Services sector

The course covers:

Structure of the construction industry

Fundamental safe working practices

Environmental sustainability measures in domestic dwellings

Site preparation for working in the construction industry

 

Depending on which trade the candidate decides to follow they will also cover the following:

Electrical:

Electrical installation wiring and terminations

Fabrication techniques for electrical installation

Electrical science and technology

 

Plumbing:

Above ground drainage

Copper pipework

Plastic pressure pipework

Low carbon steel pipework

Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems

Plumbing science

Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you should be committed to this course and interested in working in the construction industry with a good understanding of basic Maths, English and Science on both

Progression

You can progress onto a Level 2 Plumbing or Level 2 Electrical course or gain employment in this sector and become an apprentice.
