You will be given the opportunity to develop a range of skills, knowledge and attributes that are essential for a successful career in the IT and Computing Industries. You will study many units over the 2 years such as:  Computer Systems, Programming, HCI, Networking, Databases, Web Development, Tech Support, Security, and Computer Games.

The course is delivered by dedicated and experienced staff who are passionate about providing the best opportunities they can so that you have the right choices for the future. They are supportive and care about delivering excellent results for their students. Trips are organised throughout the year to prospective employers and other computer related visits. There is a dedicated IT classroom and whilst on-site students have access to specialist software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Visual Studio, Android Studio and Microsoft Visio.

Requirements

You will need to have completed the BTEC Level 2 IT course or have at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including maths and English.

This course would suit anyone who wishes to prepare for a career in the IT and Computing industries and related areas. It will appeal to you if you want a programme of study that is challenging, has practical work and allows you to be creative and problem-solve. It covers a wide range of topics and you need to be prepared to work hard.

Assessment

Written assignments, observations, presentations and collaborative work

Progression

You can progress to the BTEC Extended Diploma in IT course, an apprenticeship or employment
