This qualification provides pathways into the sector for anyone considering a career in health and social care. You will develop knowledge about the wider health and social care sector, to help you decide whether you enjoy working in the industry.

To gain this qualification you will need to complete four small units. You will be assessed through the production of a portfolio of activities such as posters and leaflets and you will be helped to design short answer question papers and a quiz.

Modules you will study include:

  • The range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
  • The principles and values in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
  • Awareness of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
  • Introductory awareness of person-centred support in health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings.

This course is available from February 22nd and will run on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on alternate weeks, complimented by online sessions.

This course can be accessed for free, subject to certain criteria available on request. For those not eligible, the course fee is £250.

Requirements

You will need a good level of English speaking and writing skills.

Progression

We offer a range of Level 2 courses which you could progress onto, including the Award for Customer Service for Health And Social Care Settings which is a six week programme running on Tuesday evenings which follows this Level 1 course.
