The FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand, and support individuals experiencing mental health issues. This course is suitable for anyone interested in promoting mental well-being in the workplace or community, including managers, HR professionals, and support staff.
You will explore the principles of mental health first aid, how to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, and how to provide initial support. The course also covers the impact of mental health in various settings and the importance of early intervention.
Training includes practical guidance on how to approach conversations about mental health, how to refer individuals to appropriate professional help, and how to maintain personal boundaries and self-care.
By the end of the course, you will be able to apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios and contribute to a more supportive and understanding environment.

Requirements
This qualification is available to learners aged 16 or over. It is recommended that learners hold a minimum of level 1 in literacy or equivalent. Reasonable adjustments may be made for learners with disabilities or learning needs.
Assessment
You are assessed through written assessments and practical demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health. There is no grading; you will pass or are referred.
Progression
This qualification supports progression to level 3 supervising first aid for mental health.
