Course: Enterprise & Entrepreneurship BTEC
Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Sixth Form College
FT / PT
This is a brand new course that is being offered by Lowestoft Sixth Form College from September 2018. This course is not offered by any other provider in the region, so the college are pioneers in promoting this qualification.
The intention of this course is to ‘inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow’. We aim to bring together local and regional enterprises, keynote speakers and employer mentors to support the delivery and enrich the course content. The qualification is equivalent in size to one A Level and aims to provide an excellent introduction to studying the enterprise sector. The course will be delivered over 1 year and is designed to be taken alongside other academic or vocational qualifications available.
The course will provide coverage of four units:
Unit 1: Enterprise and Entrepreneurs
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign
Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance
Unit 7: Social Enterprise
Two of the four units, Unit 2 and 3 will be externally assessed. The external assessments involve an exam paper for Unit 3 and a set task for Unit 2 (this will be researched in class and then completed under time constrained conditions). The remaining two units will be assessed internally.
