The ECITB Scholarship Programme is an exciting opportunity for aspiring engineers of the future!

Successful applicants will complete a one-year programme on mechanical installation at our Lowestoft campus, all while receiving an allowance of £60 a week during term time. The programme is open to 16 to 18-year-olds only.

You will acquire industrial skills and knowledge through a mixture of practical and classroom activity on a full-time basis for one year. The qualification for the scholarship is a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering.

All learners will complete a minimum of 35 hours of work experience throughout the course.

What does it involve?

  • Skills and knowledge training for five days a week over one academic year
  • Working safely with hand tools, power tools and equipment
  • Manual handling, low risk confined space, working at height and abrasive wheels qualifications
  • Gain nationally recognised industry qualifications
  • A Health and Safety Passport (CCNSG)
  • Interaction with employers
  • £60 a week learner allowance during term time

Requirements

You will need to have achieved at least a grade 4 in English and Maths. If you don’t quite achieve the GCSE grades needed, there may be the opportunity to retake either English or Maths. All applicants will need to have an interest in Engineering.
