This qualification is designed to equip you with the foundational digital capabilities needed for everyday life and work. Developed in collaboration with educational institutions and digital experts, this qualification aligns with national standards and supports you to become confident digital citizens.
The qualifications consist of a range of core units:
- Using devices and handling information
- Creating and editing
- Communicating
- Transacting
- Being safe and responsible online
You will engage with practical tasks that reflect real-world digital scenarios, helping you build confidence and competence in using devices, managing information and communicating online.
The course is structured to allow you to progress at your own pace, with support from tutors to tailor learning to your individual needs.
By completing this qualification, you will gain essential digital skills that are applicable across various contexts, laying the groundwork for further study or employment in digitally enabled environments.
Requirements
This qualification is suitable for those aged 16 and above. No prior formal qualifications are required for entry.
Assessment
Assessment is conducted through an externally set, internally marked, and externally quality assured online test. The assessment includes observed tasks such as making a video call, and must be completed under supervised conditions.
Progression
This course provides a vocational taster which aids future career decisions and progression opportunities to employment or further study. You may progress to higher-level digital qualifications or use the skills gained to access employment opportunities requiring basic digital literacy.
