Are you interested in film, TV, Radio, Magazines, Newspapers and more?! Thinking about a career in media? The level 3 extended diploma in media will give you the perfect start to your career. You will be creating and producing for the world of TV, film and media in this exciting course.

You will produce film dramas, animations, advertisements, radio shows, music videos, visual FX, documentaries, studio based TV programmes and more. You will also gain an understanding of the planning alongside media theories and create links with your own production work.

We will show you how to present your work to professional standards working on live projects. All of our software is industry standard using Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite etc.

You will complete 13 units over two years building portfolios of coursework and producing media products.

You will learn about digital media, filming, editing, writing scripts, and VFX. You will learn new techniques, ideas and processes through a range of practical lessons and tutorials. You will record, and edit every day to create a portfolio of digital media work for university and work application interviews. You will take part in real industry set project briefs. The units include narrative, trailers, podcasting, multicamera, animation, documentaries advertising and more!

Requirements

You will need to have achieved at least four GCSEs at grade 9-4 ideally including English and maths.

You can also apply for this course if you have completed Creative Media Production and Technology Level 2.

 

Assessment

You will be assessed and supported throughout the two year course with regular reviews, formative and final assessment on each of the 18 units gaining a pass, merit or distinction.

Progression

You can progress to a FdA in Visual Effects and Post-Production or FdA Applied Photography through the University of Suffolk at East Coast College, or other universities.

You can also progress on to an apprenticeship or employment.
