This type of training prepares individuals to protect clients (e.g., VIPs, executives, dignitaries) from harassment, threats, or physical harm. Training combines theory and practical skills: risk assessment, surveillance, planning, defensive tactics, vehicle protection, first aid, legal compliance, and conflict management. It is designed for people who are already working in the security industry and are seeking a protection role. The training course includes:
- Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace
- Level 1 Certificate in Employability
- Level 2 Award in Substance Misuse
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Workplace Violence and Harassment
Course Duration
4 weeks, full time attendance. You will also be expected to undertake self-directed study in the evenings and weekends to complete the full course.

Course Cost
This course may be fully funded if you are:
- Earning under £25,750 annually before tax (£2,083.30 monthly / £495.19 weekly)
- On universal credit and taking home £952 (single) or £1534 (joint)
- Unemployed and seeking employment
- Receiving ESA/JSA
Requirements
To be eligible for this course, you must:
- Be over 19 as of the 31st August 2025
- Have knowledge of the security industry
- Not have any unspent criminal convictions
Progression
You can progress to an adult bootcamp or related employment with training.
