Foundation Skills is designed to provide a more supported route towards vocational learning, independent living or supported work. Our courses are suitable for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, or those who have had support at school. This course also includes an English and maths focus.
This course is intended to provide you with a broad introduction to sports and active leisure. The aim of the course is to equip you with underpinning knowledge and specific skills alongside a range of transferable employability skills.
There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.
Work that meets the criteria is tracked and maintained individually in the form of a portfolio. The programme is monitored by internal verifiers and external verification by Gateway and City and Guilds.
Within your programme of study you will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for performance in further study. The development of social skills is a key focus of the programme.
