The BA (Hons) Visual Arts offers you the chance to live and study in Lowestoft, Britain’s most easterly town. You will work alongside experienced professional artists in dedicated studios, with access to well-equipped workshops.

Learning through play and experimentation are at the heart of this 3-year course. The teaching team are all practicing artists who understand the creative process and the different forms it may take. Over the three years, you will be encouraged to develop your artistic identity, to establish your area of interest & expertise and to challenge yourself to explore new creative areas. Studio enquiry will be informed by a program of contextual study into historical and contemporary practices and related theoretical debate.

You will be prepared for a career after university and develop professional competencies like communication skills, independent working, writing, organisation and team work. You will also develop skills related to promoting and selling your work, engage in live projects, competitions and exhibitions and explore how your work can engage with wider audiences. You will engage with industry and see how your creative ideas can help fulfil the aims of professional organisations.
