East is the Lowestoft Campus training restaurant, open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtime and every Wednesday and Thursday evening (term time). It is an experience worth enjoying and in a publication of Places and Faces magazine East was described it as "one of the finest dining experiences around".
East has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running and has a five-star hygiene rating.
All the food is prepared and served by our full-time catering students working towards a career in the Hospitality and Catering Industry.

Ambitions is our Great Yarmouth Campus training restaurant and is renowned for training young chefs and hospitality students, teaching them the full range of kitchen and front-of-house skills to take into the industry.
Known for its fine food, personal service and consistent standards, diners are offered various restaurant and dining styles – formal silver service and a more relaxed lunchtime bistro style ambiance as well as regular themed evenings with entertainment – in the restaurant housed in a purpose-built building on the college campus.
Everything on the menu is freshly made in the kitchens – including all desserts and bread – offering high quality dishes and attentive service by students studying for NVQs levels 2 and 3 in catering and hospitality, closely supervised by highly-trained staff.
The judges said:
“Students knew the menu well and recommended the right wine.” “Students were excellently turned out and the menus were a very good representation of the skills required,” “Mains were excellent.” Students were “excellent, friendly and helpful.”
The aim of Ambitions is to raise the aspirations of young people in the area and raise their employability by offering the widest range of culinary, service and presentation skills at highly competitive prices.
For the last 20 years, Ambitions has been a training ground for many top chefs working in some of the finest kitchens in Britain and around the world and each year two students are offered the opportunity to spend their summer working in a hotel in Brittany to expand their skills. Ambitions’ menu changes weekly and much attention is paid to plate presentation and detail.
Ofsted also praised the hospitality and catering team’s strengths of high success rates, “good teaching and learning in practical skills”, “a wide range of provision which meets learners’ and employers’ needs” and “well-managed and successful provision for learners aged 14 to 16.”
