Course Overview
The nuclear sector demands more than technical expertise, it requires leaders who understand safety, compliance, and team dynamics in high-risk environments. Our CILM Nuclear Upskill Bootcamp equips you with the skills to lead effectively while embedding the principles of nuclear safety culture into every decision.
This course blends leadership and management fundamentals with a specialised focus on nuclear safety behaviours, ensuring you can manage teams, maintain compliance, and foster a culture of accountability on nuclear-related projects. Completion of this bootcamp will enable you to apply for your AQP card and take on new responsibilities at work.

- Understanding nuclear power and how it impacts on own area of responsibility
- Regulation of the nuclear industry and the consequences of non-compliance
- Principles and application of excellence and error prevention in nuclear construction

Eligibility criteria:
Currently, we are only able to offer this bootcamp to applicants who live in Suffolk or Norfolk.
You must:
- Be aged 19+
- Have the right to work in the UK/have a National Insurance number
- Be a current resident in Norfolk or Suffolk
- Have lived in the UK/EU for at least three years or have the right to live and work in the UK
- Currently work in the construction industry as Supervisors, Foremen, Team Leaders and Managers

Training Method
Classroom and industry visits - based at our Energy Skills Centre Lowestoft Campus
Your employer will pay a contribution of: 10% if they are an SME (1-249 employees) = £250. 30% if the are a large organisation (250+ employees) = £750
This course is for people already employed within the construction industry.
Skills Bootcamps are specifically targeted at candidates aged 19+ years of age.

Course Content
This course is designed to equip you with a solid foundation in civil engineering operations while introducing you to essential hand tool techniques for cutting and shaping materials.
Student Support
Every student will need support, advice and guidance at some time during their training and studies. It might be for transport information, learning support, a friendly constructive ear to discuss worries or counselling to support overcoming more serious issues. Our highly-trained advisors will be able to help – and if they believe you need more support, they have access to a wide network of external agencies who will have the answer.
