We have a superb salons in which to hone your skills and develop relationships with real clients. We also have fantastic links to industry, with local employers providing work experience.
New developments within the industry mean there’s more to a career in this expanding industry than ever before. As well as being able to train to be a hairdresser or barber, it’s now possible to branch out and specialise in more unusual aspects of the industry.
You could also use the qualifications to study at university, follow a career in salon management or branch out by moving in to product development or journalism.  

Level 1 – This is a practical course which gives you an introduction to the hair and beauty industry. You will learn about presenting a professional image in a salon as well as learning basic treatments for hairdressing and beauty therapy. You will have classroom sessions to build your general knowledge and maths and English.

Level 2 – You will work in our well-equipped salon, where you will learn all aspects and skills required to work as a junior stylist. You will work on clients doing cuts, colours, perms and all areas of finishing and styling hair.

Level 3 – This will prepare you for employment as a senior stylist whilst taking your skills to a very high level. This is your opportunity to discover insights and inspirations to bring the latest trends to life in the salon. You’ll become increasingly confident broadening your knowledge and technical skills as you experiment with the latest techniques.

If you are aged 16-19 and have not achieved GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths, any programme you choose will require you to continue studying English and maths.
