This course will be delivered at Lowestoft Sixth Form College, based on the East Coast College Lowestoft campus.

If you’re interested in a career in software production and design, our T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development is the course for you!

You will learn how to use data in software design, digital technologies to analyse and solve problems and explore
digital environments including physical, virtual and cloud environments. You will develop an understanding of how digital technologies impact business and the ethical and moral implications of digital technology.

You will look at emerging technical trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Blockchain and 3D printing, plan digital projects and test software, hardware and data. The course will also provide you with knowledge of legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies, the privacy and confidentiality of personal data and the technical, physical and human aspects of internet security.

Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement for a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, such as a web developer or games designer, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

Requirements

You will need to have achieved two grade 5s and three grade 4s at GCSE including at least a grade 4 in English language and maths.

Progression

Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship.
